Two new Image panels are now available, allowing you to display images in a number of ways on your website. Both panels are enhanced with JavaScript, allowing the images move around smoothly. If the visitor has JavaScript disabled then the panels will gracefully degrade, and they can still see all of the images and descriptions without the sliding effects.
The basic use of a Slide-Show panel is to show image slides. This may be done with user interaction or on an automatic timer, as shown below. Notice how it automatically slides to the next image every 5 seconds.
The visitor can change to the next/previous image either by pressing the transparent left/right arrows, or by moving the mouse over the image and scrolling with the mouse wheel.
The new Slide-Show panel is very useful for displaying images, however it can also be used for much more. In the example below, we are using images which have been setup with captions that appear. You could also setup images that link to news articles as a great way to showcase your news.
Below the Slide-Show is the Slide Selector which has been enabled. This allows the visitor to select which slide to view by clicking on the small version of the image.
If you are after something a little fancier than a basic Slide Show, then check out the Slide Carousel Panel. This panel has many of the same settings that the Slide-Show panel does, such as captions, left/right arrows and the ability to use your mouse wheel to scroll through images.
Another feature shown here is the Image Reflections. These are generated automatically from the images you upload and can look great with the right images. Slide-Show panels also have this feature.
